Black & White & Brutal

If you like to see women riding a tilt-a-whirl in their lingerie, having a mild cat fight in a classic hot-rod, or undulating to some surf riffs, then this is the video for you. If you think you'd enjoy forty-four minutes of hand-held VHS video featuring pictures by photographer Justice Howard, then you might want to invest some money and order it. If you’re looking for high-class down and dirty erotica, you better keep looking, buster, because you’re not going to find much of it here.

Black & White & Brutal is divided into roughly six sections and I enjoyed three of them. Luckily they weren’t all in a row and the others were short enough where I didn’t have to do much fast-forwarding. The aforementioned women walking around in their dainty under-garments tended to get old fast (no matter how pretty one is, they look like shit in poorly lit VHS) but I was intrigued by the vignette where a woman was coated in black latex. The actual Howard photos weren’t too shabby either with a majority of them featuring women in a state of undress in unusual places.

But, I'd rather have a nice coffee table book of Justice Howard’s work instead of Black & White & Brutal. That way I wouldn’t have to listen to the annoying industrial soundtrack and suffer through the low production values. To put this in terms for my fellow Detroit-area readers; this video had all the trappings of a Noir Leather Production. Yes, it was that cheesy. But, like Noir’s stuff, it was an opportunity to see a lot of pallid flesh contrasted by black garter belts and other assorted arousing accoutrements.
